Terms of service and licence
Last updated 2 November 2026
These terms apply when you use the Cactorial app for Mac, your Cactorial account and cactorial.com. Please read them; by creating an account, starting a trial or buying a licence you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Cactorial is made by LindenCode IT Services GmbH, Badeweg 4a/3, 9583 Faak am See, Austria (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at info@lindencode.com. Our company details are on the company details page.
2. Buying through Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. When you buy, you also agree to Paddle's buyer terms, and Paddle sends your receipt and invoice.
3. Free and the trial
- You can use Cactorial without an account and without paying. Videos you export then carry a small animated “Made with Cactorial” mark, an end card, and a line in generated video descriptions.
- When you sign in to the app for the first time, a 14-day trial starts: exports carry no mark. There is one trial per person and per Mac.
- When the trial ends, Cactorial keeps working. New exports carry the mark; videos exported during the trial stay as they are.
4. Your licence
A licence lets one person use Cactorial without the mark on up to 3 Macs at a time. You can free a Mac by signing out in the app or removing it in your account. A licence belongs to the person or company that bought it; a company can buy several seats and give them to its people. There are two ways to pay:
- Bought once. Includes the versions of Cactorial released in the 12 months after you buy. You may keep using those versions without the mark forever. Renewing updates is optional and adds another 12 months.
- Yearly. Includes every version while the subscription is active. It renews every year until you cancel. When it ends, Cactorial goes back to Free: new exports carry the mark; your projects and videos you exported earlier are not affected.
The app checks your licence with our servers when it is online, and works offline in between: a bought licence indefinitely, a yearly licence until 14 days after its paid period ends.
5. Prices, renewals and cancelling
- Prices exclude VAT and sales tax. Paddle adds them at checkout where they apply.
- A yearly licence renews automatically at the end of each year and Paddle charges the payment method on file. You can cancel at any time from your account (Invoices and payment); the licence then stays active until the end of the paid year.
- Price changes apply to new purchases. We tell you at least 30 days before any change to the renewal price of a licence you hold.
- Refunds: see the refund policy (30 days).
6. Your agent and other services
Cactorial works with an AI agent you choose (for example Claude Code or Codex) and with voice services you choose, using your own accounts and keys. Those services are provided by other companies under their own terms and prices; we don't control them and are not responsible for them. You are responsible for what you ask your agent to do on your Mac, and for having the right to record and publish the software, websites and content that appear in your videos.
7. Your content
Your projects, recordings, narration and videos are yours. Cactorial keeps them on your Mac; we don't receive them, and these terms give us no rights to them. Your voice keys are stored in your Mac's Keychain.
8. What you may not do
- Work around the licence check or remove the “Made with Cactorial” mark other than by holding a licence.
- Share, resell or rent a licence, or let more people use it than it has seats.
- Decompile or modify the app, except where the law allows it.
- Use Cactorial to break the law or anyone's rights.
If you break these terms, we may end your licence and account after telling you why.
9. Updates and availability
We improve Cactorial over time and may change or remove features. We aim to keep sign-in and licence checks available; when they are not, licences keep working offline as described in section 4.
10. Warranty and liability
We provide Cactorial as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it is free of errors or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or business. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, or any right you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
11. Ending
You can stop using Cactorial at any time, and ask us to delete your account at info@lindencode.com. Deleting your account ends your licences; cancel a yearly licence first so it doesn't renew.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we tell you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the law of Austria. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim there.
